The season came to a close for the Slidesports crew during the Gulf 12 Hour race in Abu Dhabi at the weekend with a third place.
Racing at the famous F1 circuit at Yas Marina the Slidesports drivers David Fairbrother, Nigel Armstrong, and Graeme Mundy were two hours into the last 6 hours of the 2 part race when disaster struck.
The curtain came down on the season with a bang, as the car entered the pits after contact with the Yas Marina wall, and once the damage was assessed the car had to be retired.
Running 21st at the time overall, the 3rd in class was secure, and it was a bittersweet moment when the drivers climbed the podium to receive their trophies shortly after midnight.
Nevertheless the overall verdict of the season is a positive one, with much to look forward to in 2018.
